I came to the course after completing undergraduate study in History, following on from an Art Foundation. I also work in theatre design and production, and love a good dance at gigs and festivals – remember them?
I specialise in medieval Europe and its interactions with the Islamic world, focusing on technology, performance and nature.
I have produced some digital heritage focused projects, such as ‘Sustainable Histories’; a platform to showcase historical objects which demonstrate repair, repurposing or reuse, and co-founded with Anna Talley in spring 2020 a rapid-response digital archive, ‘Design in Quarantine’, to collate design responses to COVID-19. This has been featured in the New York Times, Financial Times, ICON, Disegno Journal, DesignWanted and V&A Pandemic Objects.
I’ve also been part of the Co-Design team for the new Fashion40 galleries at the V&A, and over the summer interned for Musemio UK, an emerging VR app which teaches children about heritage through technology.
